The care of guests and visitors to the monastery is another concern for St. Benedict, for monastaries have been receiving visitors throughout the history of the church. Here, visitors are always welcome to our church and grounds. We invite you to stop by our information center for some brochures, and for the answers to any questions you might have. We are especially pleased with the progress on our "Renewing God's House Together" project, and invite you to spend some time visiting the church.

At Assumption Abbey we have a few guest rooms in the monastery building for private retreatants, for family and friends of monks, and for visiting religious. In addition we have the White Guest House that can accommodate small groups. For larger groups, the former dormitory Schnell Hall can accommodate almost 100 people.

The monks of our abbey do not host directed retreats or plan retreat weekends, but we make our facilities available for outside groups that would like to meet here. These groups may range from family reunions, to Search and Beginning Experience, or to retreats hosted by other religious denominations.

Daytime meetings can also be held here, usually in the North Lounge, a meeting room directly beneath the refectory, and offering the same expansive vista.

Individuals seeking a private retreat shoud write to Abbot Brian for more information.

Groups wanting to make arrangements to use our facilities should contact the Director of Groups.
