BRO. HERMAN KIM

TRANSFERS HIS VOWS

    Bro. Herman Kim was accepted by the monastic chapter of the Abbey on February 1 as a permanent member. Bro. Herman was born in Korea and was a member of Waegwan Abbey in that country since 1970. He has lived in this country since 1999 in Benedictine communities in New Jersey and California. Bro. Herman came to us in January of 2007 and was eligible to join us after a one-year probation. He is currently working as our laundryman and assistant sacristan. In the latter capacity, Bro. Herman has been exercising his considerable talents as a decorator. He has managed to come up with lovely flower arrangements, even in the winter. And he finds ways to beautify our feastdays with various displays. May he be blessed in his choice of a new country and a new monastery!
